Sixteenth Amendment to US Constitution (authorizing Federal government to collect income tax) is ratified. Seventeenth Amendment to US Constitution, requiring direct election of senators, is ratified. Robert Baden-Powell organizes the first Boy Scout troop.  Sports in 1908
